Longwood Ventures has significant experience in finding and implementing solutions to business problems.

We provide a variety of business services. Some are focused on technology and business infrastructure. Other services, more valuable for those who need them, are focused on business strategy, finance, and execution. We don't think the details of how you're presently doing business (the "plumbing") are a valid end unto themselves.  Sometimes, it might seem easier for those within your company to focus on that plumbing, worried about how they're going to use it to perform their jobs.  And sometimes, a fresh view is helpful - asking not how best to do what you're presently doing, but instead asking whether you should be doing it at all. We're troubleshooters, and we are most valuable in discrete, targeted engagements.

We focus on the business system itself in the area of your concern, including the people, the organization, the market, the financing, and the operation of the business, and offer a clear-headed outsider's view, one that we're willing to defend.  We ask many questions before forming any conclusions, because we can never know the details of your business as well as you.  

If we arrive at a resulting suggestion that differs from the one you're using as a basis, and you agree it's valid, we will have performed a valuable service for you.  We're not valuable as a rubber-stamp for what you're already doing - we don't perform corporate physical examinations.  As a result, we don't accept engagements to provide comfort letters on present practices, although we can recommend excellent firms who do.
